Adopt a Home
Restoring a home is the easy part. Keeping it standing is the work that never makes the news.
Houses in the water villages sit on timber stilts in salt water, under constant sun and monsoon rain. Paint fades within a couple of seasons. Stilts rot. Roofing sheets lift. A home we restore today needs attention again within two years — and most families cannot carry that cost alone.
Adopting a home covers that ongoing care: materials, paint, timber, and the wages of the village tradesmen who do the repairs. The money stays on the island, and the work goes to people who live there.
You will receive a short update twice a year — photographs of the home you support and a plain account of what your contribution paid for.
